Chill Factore Skis To Success At Tourism Awards

We are happy to say that we have snowballed our way to victory at the Manchester Tourism Awards.

We won the ‘Access for All’ category award at the ceremony, organised by VisitManchester and held at the Manchester Hilton in May. Judges praised the efforts we go to to cater for the needs of guests with disabilities, including our close association with Disability Snowsports UK (DSUK) and also recognised the positive relationship that we have with the local community.

Jodie Finnegan, our fantastic Guest Services Manager, was also recognised in the ceremony, coming in the top three in the ‘Outstanding Customer Service’ category. Jodie’s time here has seen a substantial improvement in guest satisfaction with a 5,000% reduction of complaints over the past 18 months and the complaint ratio now standing at less than 1 per 25,000 visitors.

Success at the Awards comes just days after we were awarded a prestigious Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme (VAQAS) accreditation by VisitEngland, the national tourism body for England, for our first-rate commitment to guests’ needs after being assessed on all areas that impact on the quality of the guest experience.

Our Real Snow Attraction has now earned the right to display the nationally recognised VisitEngland Tudor Rose Quality Marque which offers reassurance to visitors of our quality standards. Other attractions awarded the same standard include The London Eye, the Imperial War Museums and a number of historic royal palaces.

Stephen Evans, our thrilled Chief Executive, said: “We’re delighted to have our hard work and commitment recognised by these prestigious organisations. At Chill Factore the enjoyment of our guests is of paramount importance to us all and we do all we can to ensure their needs are met. As the northern headquarters of snowsports charity Disability Snowsport UK, it is a particular honour to be awarded for the quality of care we give to everyone who visits us and the efforts our adaptive ski instructors go to to get those with disabilities skiing using specialist equipment.

“I also wish to congratulate Jodie on her success – she has been instrumental in instilling our ‘guest-focussed’ culture which encourages team members to treat all visitors as though they are a guest entering their own home. This recognition comes just days after receiving the prestigious Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme (VAQAS) accreditation from VisitEngland which praised the quality of customer service, general facilities, learner tuition, the website, telephone responses and the cleanliness of the venue, as well as the ratio of staff to guests.

We have attracted over three million people from across the UK and beyond since we opened for business in November 2007 and long may that continue.
