How cold are the slopes?
It’s cold, but not uncomfortably so. Normally they are -1°C during the day when you will be skiing or boarding. Overnight we drop the temperature to -6°C to make the snow to the quality you require. Unlike the Alps, there is no wind chill and the atmosphere is always dry – this makes for a pleasant ambience.
What is the snow like?
Absolutely brilliant, but don’t just take our word for it. The UK Ski team tried the slope out at our grand opening and said it was the best they had skied on in the last 12 months.
How do we make the snow?
We use the snow canons to create a cloud of atomised liquid water comprising of small and large particles. This water then freezes in the cold environment. Snow crystals form around nucleators and fall out of the cloud, then we use the cooling system under the snow to ice up the base and create perfect snow conditions. Simple!!
