After having to settle for second place in round five of the Salomon British Indoor Snow Race Series 2008 at Chill Factore in Manchester on Saturday, Louise Bain from Peebles saw off the competition and raced to gold in race six the following day.
This latest victory gives Louise 12 podium places this summer, including six gold, five silver and one bronze, in both dry and indoor snow competitions.
In Saturday's race, Louise finished first after run one, but lost out to gold in the second by a mere 0.24 seconds. On Sunday, however, she was sitting second after run one and with a faster exit out the start gate on her second run, she raced to gold with a confident faultless run. Her superb second run time on Sunday was the third fastest of all female racers in all age groups.
Louise will now enjoy a fortnight's rest before competing in the last race in the Inghams Grand Prix Series race.
She will then race in the British Indoor Championships, followed by the Scottish Championships.
