If you’re lucky enough to be taking your family to the Alps for a family ski holiday or if you’re hoping your little one might one day compete in the winter Olympics, then now’s the time to teach them the skills they’ll need to master the mountains.
Chill Factore offers an amazing Infant Ski Academy for children aged 4-5 years, which provides skiing tuition with friendly and experienced instructors.
Our academy runs at the weekends and on Monday evenings, these are available to all children - from complete beginners through to those at championship level.
It’s a great way for children to learn new and exciting skills, and a great way to keep them entertained during school holidays.
Our aim is to make skiing fun, accessible to all children and to develop young talent where possible.
It’s not too dissimilar to learning to swim, whereby infants will learn in stages (1-6), and will be split into groups, based on their ability.
Each stage lasts for three weeks and at the end of each course kids receive a progress card so they can see how far they’ve come.
Once each stage is successfully completed kids can continue onto the next stage and before you know it you’re cheering them on at the Olympics! Well you could be…
PLEASE NOTE: PARENTS ARE UNAUTHORISED TO STAND ON THE BEGINNER SLOPE WHILST LESSONS ARE TAKING PLACE DUE TO HEALTH AND SAFETY REASONS BUT WE DO HAVE A VIEWING GALLERY ACCESSED VIA THE MONT BLANC RESTAURANT UPSTAIRS.
If you feel your child will want you to stay with them throughout their lesson, we now offer private lessons for infants. Private lessons are available for 25 minutes or 50 minutes for both the beginner slope and main slope. For more information on private lessons for infants click here.
Infant Ski Academy Beginner Stages 1 - 4
- Stage 1 minimum standard: Complete beginner or taster lesson standard.
- Lesson Content: Introduction to equipment, Flat land exercise & basic balance and sliding.
- Stage 2 minimum standard: Basic flat land and straight sliding skills / Beginners stage 1 goals complete.
- Lesson Content: Learn to snow plough & glide in a snow plough.
- Stage 3 minimum standard: Basic snow plough glide / Beginners stage 2 goals complete.
- Lesson Content: Basic snow plough turns and speed control
- Stage 4 minimum standard: Basic snow plough turns and speed control / Beginners stage 3 goals complete.
- Lesson Content: Advance snow plough turns into basic plough parallel and button lift introduction.

Infant Ski Academy Improver Stages 5 - 6
- Stage 5 minimum standard: Advance snow plough turns and basic plough parallel and confident on a button lift / Beginners stage 4 goals complete.
- Lesson Content: Advance plough parallel turns, increased speed control and basic slalom course exercises.
- Stage 6 minimum standard: Advance plough parallel turns, high speed control and basic slalom experience / Beginners stage 5 goals complete.
- Lesson Content: Parallel turns, different turn shape and size and high speed exercises.

Infant Ski Academy Advanced Stages
Once the beginner and improver stages ae complete, kids can progress their skills further by attending advanced sessions. These can be taken as a three week course or as individual lessons.
Main Slope
Once you have completed the Infant Ski Acdemy you will be ready to take on the main slope with confidence.
At 180 metres long, Chill Factore boasts the UK’s longest indoor real snow slope. That’s 180 metres of pure fun where you get to practice your new skills again and again!
Enjoy exhilarating experiences from regular skiing to the more thrilling activities like Race Club where you can take your skiing to the next level or train to become a competitive racer.
Chill Factore is also home to the renowned Core Freestyle nights, where skiers kick it the way they want without restriction. The fun literally never ends!
