Kids Snowboard Academy
There’s definitely a cool vibe around snowboarding and if your kids couldn’t stop talking about 1080’s, Tomahawks and boarder cross after the Winter Olympics then snowboarding is definitely the sport for them.
Chill Factore offers an uber cool Junior Snowboard Academy for children aged 8-12 years, which provides snowboarding tuition with friendly and experienced instructors.
Our Snowboard Academy runs at the weekends, these are available to all children - from complete beginners through to Shaun White wannabes at championship level.
It’s a great way for kids to learn new and exciting skills, which they can put to practice on family holidays in the mountains, or even build upon to compete professionally in the future. Either way our academy is a great way to learn and have fun, and a great idea to keep the kids entertained over school holidays and half term.
Our aim is to make snowboarding fun, accessible to all children and to develop young talent where possible.
Children will learn in Levels (1-6), and will be split into groups, based on their ability.
Junior Snowboard Academy Beginner Course
The most cost effective way to progress through our levels structure is by purchasing a course, which lasts for three weeks. However, if your child leads an action packed life and needs more flexibility you can purchase levels individually. Children attending the Snowboard Academy will receive a progress card at the end of each course so can see how far they’ve come.
Entry level requirement: Complete beginner or taster lesson standard.
Level 1 Content: Introduction to equipment, flat land exercies & basic balance and edge control.
Level 2 Content: Foot Steering exercises and isolated basic turns.
Level 3 Content: Linked turns, button lift and main slope introduction
Junior Snowboard Pre-Improver Course
Ideal for those snowboarders who have done the Beginners Course or similar and looking to get across to the lower main slope.
Lesson Content: This course starts on the Beginners Slope and finishes on the lower main slope ready for the Improvers Course
Junior Snowboard Improver Course
Minimum standard (beginning level 4): Linked turns on lower section of the main slope and confident on a button lift / Improver level 3 goals complete
Level 4 Content: Speed control during linked turns on beginner and main slope
Level 5 Content: Develop turn size and shape and linked turns on steeper part of the main slope.
Level 6 Content: Basic skidded turns from the top of the main slope and introduction to standard turns.
Junior Ski Academy Advanced Course
Want to improve on everything you have learnt so far? Then why not continue on and progress with our Junior Snowboard Advanced course.
The course lasts for the three weeks. Once this is successfully completed kids can definitely hit our main slope with confidence. See below for some great ways to put your new found skills to use!

Main Slope
Once you have completed the Junior Snowboard Acdemy you will be ready to take on the main slope with confidence.
At 180 metres long, Chill Factore boasts the UK’s longest indoor real snow slope. That’s 180 metres of pure fun where you get to practice your new skills again and again!
Enjoy exhilarating experiences from regular snowboarding to the more thrilling activities like Freestyle where you can take your snowboarding to the next level or train to become the next Shaun White.
