Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the experience situated?

The Snow Park and Mini Moose Land area will be transformed into Santa's Grotto, with Santa making his home away from home in a cosy gingerbread house out on the snow.

Why is a visit to Santa at Chill Factore so unique?
Ah that’s easy. It’s because all visits to Santa are combined with an activity out in the snow. Children under 4 can play in Mini Moose Land, where we have snow tunnels and a mini Downhill Donuts track. If you’re children are aged 4+, you can enjoy the thrills of all our activities in the Snow Park - Sledge 'O' Mania, Downhill Donuts, the Luge Slip 'n' Slide and the Snow Luge.

What should we all wear?

Don’t forget, it’s cold out on the snow (-3 degrees in fact) so you’ll need warm clothing. You can choose to wear your own or hire our jackets and trousers for only £8 a set.

Everyone going on to the snow for activities is automatically supplied with snow boots and a helmet, but you can also bring your own. Just make sure they're suitable for walking in snow with a good tread and are clean.

How long before my allotted time should I arrive?

We suggest that you arrive at least 30 mins/45 mins before your visit time to get ready and make allowances for queues. Santa is very popular and has many visitors!

Can we just book a visit to Santa and not play in the snow?

Yes you can just book a Santa visit. However, this will have to be booked on the day at Guest Services and there may be limited availability. It's £10 for 1 adult and 1 child, £8 per additional child and £6 per additional adult.

What happens when we get there?

Head straight to the Santa’s Grotto Desk (to the right of the Guest Services queue). Here we’ll print your tickets.

If you need snow boots and warm clothing before your visit to Santa, you will be directed to the changing village to get kitted out in your snow gear.

After your visit to Santa, you’ll go straight into either Mini Moose Land (Under 4's) or the Snow Park (Over 4's) bench back in the changing village, where you'll be briefed before heading out to play in the snow.

How long will we have to queue?

The queue usually takes around 30 minutes and whilst we try to encourage Santa not to ‘ho ho ho’ for too long, he does like to chat to children and so the queue can, during peak periods, take a bit longer.

Our elves are here to make the experience enjoyable and there’s usually something going on whilst you wait. Guests who arrive on the day with no ticket may be subjected to longer wait times during busy periods if they are able to purchase a ticket.

How long will the visit with Santa last?

A visit to see Santa lasts a few minutes.

Will Santa give me a gift?

Of course, this is Santa. It’s what he does :)

What if I've not been good this year?

Ooh, we can all be cheeky sometimes but don’t worry… Santa always remembers the good things you've done.

Is the gift suitable for all ages?

How many children can see Santa at once?

Visits to Santa at Chill Factore are especially for you; just you and your family visit Santa together. If you would like to bring along a group just give us a call on 0161 749 2222 and we will book you in. Depending on how many of your there are we may need to split you into smaller groups.

Must my child be accompanied?

Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets are available for adults and juniors.

Will Santa be made aware of my child’s disabilities and act accordingly if necessary?

Yes, if you indicate when booking that a member of your party has special needs, we will contact you to get further details and make any necessary notes on your booking. On the day we can then notify the elves who will make the appropriate provisions.

Have all staff been DBS checked?

Will a photo be taken of my child’s visit?

Yes, one of Santa’s elves will take a picture of your visit inside Santa’s Grotto which you can approve on a monitor. We aim to make sure you have a lovely photograph as a memento and offer a range of Christmas gifts to display your photos such as baubles, snow frames and snow globes. Please see Santa photos and gifts tab on the Christmas pages of the website.

Can I take my own photos?

No, we don’t permit the use of cameras or phones inside Santa's Grotto.

Will the photos be stored or deleted?

Photos will be securely stored until Christmas Eve when the Grotto closes at which stage they will be deleted.

Is there somewhere we can head to for food and drink?

Yes, there’s a great choice. You can enjoy delicious pizzas and pasta in the Pizza Dalla Piste restaurant, indulge in Nando's or pop into Wetherspoons. Then there’s Paul's for dreamy ice-creams or enjoy a coffee and a bite to eat in either Costa or Mont Blanc overlooking the slope. Oh and don’t forget the Sports Bar where you can enjoy a drink overlooking the main slope.
