COVID-19 (Coronavirus) - Information for guests

Statement from our Managing Director

Updated at 4.30pm on 14th July 2021

Following the latest announcement from our Government on Monday ( 12th July ) I am pleased we are all able to continue our journey back to “normal”.

I have been delighted with all the positive feedback and support we have received from our guests over the last few months, and delivering a great guest experience remains our main priority.

With this in mind, from next Monday ( 19th July ), a number of positive changes we made to our procedures due to Covid guidelines will remain in place such as the cleaning and hygiene regime and reduced capacities on adult lessons, Snow Park and lift passes on our Main Slope. We will also be reopening our changing cubicles.

While we recommend wearing a mask in an indoor environment, this will be your personal choice and will not be mandatory for guests or for our team. I ask that you respect each person’s own decision and we will continue to provide a safe and clean environment for you to fully enjoy your visit.

We will continue to review guest and team feedback over the summer as well as keeping abreast of government guidelines and will assess our procedures and policies as we go back into hopefully a busy winter season.

For those of you who have returned since we reopened, thank you again for your support and positive feedback. For those who we have not seen yet – I look forward to welcoming you back soon, we have missed you!

Ian Brown
Managing Director

Updated 25th September 2020

What new lockdown rules mean for Chill Factore

With the latest restrictions announced this week, we wanted to let you know what that means when you come to visit Chill Factore. We implemented a number of measures that satisfied the criteria of Visit England’s COVID-19 standard for leisure businesses operating through the coronavirus pandemic and we were certified as ‘Good to Go’ when we re-opened Chill Factore on 17th August.

Since then we have continually kept up to date with latest guidance and are encouraged that guests who have visited us so far have rated us very highly for the business’s and our team’s commitment to and handling of these measures. The great news is that all of our measures remain in line with the latest government guidance. It is critical that everybody observes the following HANDS, FACE, SPACE behaviours and here’s how our measures support these:

HANDS:

Our team have strict guidance on hand washing and there are sanitization stations throughout the building. We have robust equipment sanitization processes in place and will only accept cashless payment and online pre-bookings to reduce non-essential contact. We are also no longer offering rental clothing.

FACE:

Our team will always wear gloves and face coverings and we insist that our guests wear face coverings too. We have also installed a number of protective perspex screens to further protect our team members and our guests during all necessary face to face interactions, such as equipment collection.

SPACE:

We have plenty of space at Chill Factore and have implemented a one-way system around the BEYOND building and Chill Factore Changing Village. We have also reduced our capacities to ensure everyone can abide by social distancing rules of keeping 2 metres apart where possible and the famous ‘rule of 6’.

Abiding by the ‘rule of 6’ we have recently reintroduced group day lessons and kids lessons. For group day lessons, we allow a maximum of 5 guests with 1 instructor and kids lessons will be run like private lessons, which can either be taken by an individual or up to 4 children to enable siblings or friends of the same social bubble to learn together. The reason that kids lessons are for a maximum of 4 children and not 5 is that often a second instructor is needed to support kids lessons, which would take the group up to 6. You can read more about our group lessons and kids lessons here.

Of course, if you live in an area under local lockdown then you should ensure you abide by these additional measures too. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our team for their continued commitment and hard work, and our guests for continuing to support Chill Factore.

Rest assured that the safety of our team and guests is our number 1 priority.

We look forward to welcoming more guests over the coming weeks and months.

Updated at 7.45pm on 7th August 2020

With a view to opening our slope to guests on Monday 17th August, we are delighted to announce that guests will be able to book online from Monday 10th August.

As per our post on 29th July, for the first week, only hourly lift passes will be available. From Monday 24th August lessons will be available, in a new format, as well as a reduced capacity Snow Park.

As you may be aware, COVID-19 and the associated health and safety restrictions do mean that we are having to make some changes to the way we work and the products we will have on offer.  We hope that once restrictions start to ease, our working practices will be able to change but for opening please expect some changes, some of which are listed below:

  • Reduced activity/product portfolio
  • A reduction in opening hours
  • Social distancing of 2 metres apart where possible.
  • Team members wearing gloves and face coverings
  • Cashless payment only
  • Pre-booking online only
  • Different (and one-way) layout of the Changing Village and wider building
  • No changing cubicles or lockers
  • No rental clothing
  • Sanitisation stations

Social distancing rules mean that we are currently unable to offer group lessons or snow school. Instead our new Friends & Family lessons will be available for either individuals, or a group of friends & family from the same household or support bubble who don't need to socially distance from one another.

We have highlighted some of the key changes above but you may have more questions. Please, in the first instance, review our Frequently Asked Questions pages which provide more detail about what to expect when you visit Chill Factore. If we haven’t been able to answer your question(s), please email us at info@chillfactore.com.

We look forward to seeing you on the slopes again very soon!

Updated at 1pm on 31st July 2020

The Government have today announced that the earliest date bowling alleys, skating rinks, casinos, beauty salons and indoor sporting arenas may reopen has been postponed by at least 2 weeks to Saturday 15th August. This does not change our current plan; we are delighted to confirm that Chill Factore will still be reopening on Monday 17th August 2020 and we are really looking forward to welcoming you back to the slopes!

We previously announced that you would be able to book online from Monday 3rd August. Due to today’s announcement and yesterday’s partial re-introduction of lockdown measures in the Greater Manchester area, there remains an element of uncertainty on whether our planned reopening will be allowed by law. Therefore we will no longer be taking bookings next week. We are closely monitoring the situation and hopefully will allow booking to commence again soon.

Following the Government’s announcement on 17th July 2020, that bowling, skating rinks, casinos and beauty salons sporting arenas were allowed to open from Saturday 1st August 2020, we are delighted to announce that Chill Factore will be reopening on Monday 17th August 2020 and are really looking forward to welcoming you back to the slopes!

As you might expect, we have had to make a few changes to ensure that our environment is as safe as possible for both our guests and our team.  As a result of that, for the first week only hourly lift passes will be available.  From Monday 24th August 2020 lessons will run in a new format and Snow Park will also be available.

You will be able to book online from Monday 3rd August.

As you may be aware, COVID-19 and the associated health and safety restrictions do mean that we are having to make some changes to the way we work and the products we will have on offer.  We hope that once restrictions start to ease, our working practices will be able to change but for opening please expect some changes, some of which are listed below:

Reductions in capacity Social distancing rules mean that we are currently unable to offer group lessons or snow school. On 9th July 2020, the Government announced that indoor leisure centres, health and fitness clubs and sporting arenas are now allowed to open from Saturday 25th July 2020.  Chill Factore falls into this category of destinations.  Whilst we are very keen to open our doors and welcome our guests back to the slopes, we are currently reviewing the guidelines to ensure that we can reopen safely and operate within the restrictions being placed upon us.  At the moment, we are unable to confirm at definitive date however, it is likely to be in August 2020.  Once we have more information, we will post it on our website and social channels.

Thank you.

It has been 16 weeks since we temporarily closed for business as a result of the Government measures to reduce the infection rate of COVID-19. As the country slowly starts to reopen for business, we thought now would be a good time to update you on our plans for reopening.

Opening the snow for guests is not yet allowed by the Government and, it is likely to be some weeks before we can open. Rest assured that when we know when that is likely to be, we will be back in touch with you. In the meantime, this is a brief insight into “what to expect” given the current guidelines and our commitment to keeping our guests and team members as safe as possible.

  • Social distancing of 2 metres apart where possible.
  • Team members wearing gloves and masks
  • Cashless payment only
  • Pre-booking online only
  • Different (and one-way) layout of the Changing Village and wider building

  • Sanitisation stations
  • Reductions in capacity and changes to our product schedule

Once we re-open, annual memberships will automatically be extended by the length of time that we remain closed.

If you have any Chill Factore gift vouchers, please disregard the expiry dates currently shown. When we reopen all vouchers that have an expiry date from Saturday 21st March 2020 onwards will be automatically extended to 31st August 2021, allowing you plenty of time to redeem them.

Please note that our call centre remains closed. We can be contacted via email info@chillfactore.com but as the majority of our team are on furlough leave it will take us longer than usual to get back to you.

Please note that there will be no access to the first floor, any part of the snow or any toilet facilities. The building opening hours will be Monday to Sunday 10am - 9pm.
