Mum's Guide: Why a trip to the Snow Park could boost your energy - by Carol Clark

Carol Clark is a Manchester based mum who was looking for exciting new activities to enjoy with her kids. She came to Chill Factore in an attempt to keep her family of four entertained for the whole day - and hopefully to enjoy a coffee in peace for half an hour.

As a mum, it is easy to let your routine slip. You work all day, or you’re taking care of a family - including high-energy kids. It can be very tempting to bundle the kids into the Snow Park and watch them play while sipping a coffee - grateful for the moment of peace, but studies have shown that occasional playtime for adults can boost endorphins and raise your energy levels too. Read on to learn more about how a family fun day at Chill Factore could be beneficial to you, as a parent, and your family in the long run. It was for mine, and I am confident it will be the same for yours!

Quality time with the kids

Now, I’m not knocking the the chance to grab a few moments to yourself. However, the moment that I decided to don my own pair of snow boots instead of sitting and watching my kids whizz down the slopes, was the moment that everything changed. For a start, the Snow Park at weekends is extremely easy to navigate, even when it starts to get really busy. One pass does all, so whether the kids were drawn to the Downhill Donuts or the Snow Luge, we were safe in the knowledge that we had access to everything.

As somebody that rarely has time for exercise, joining the kids on the Snow Park actually gave me a buzz that lasted well into the day - I felt bouncier and ready for anything - and I realised that was because I had broken the monotony of my day-to-day and had a run around with the kids. They loved it, too!

Playtime at Chill: good for the body and mind

According to a recent article published by The Help Guide online, unstructured play for adults is beneficial to both the body and mind. It keeps you feeling full of youth and energy, which in turn promotes the release of endorphins - what’s not to love about that? It is said to strengthen creativity and improve relationships and connections with people. Reading this got me thinking: what better way to spend quality time with the kids than by taking them to their favourite indoor ski experience?

Fellow mums, trust me, I love kicking back and relaxing as much as the next person, but the fun we had at the Snow Park blew that out of the water. The Snow Park during the school holidays may seem daunting, but your pass will ensure that you get the best experience possible. Pull on the snow boots and waterproofs and let the endorphins flow, because it’s time to put the coffee down!
