Speed Skiing Comes to Chill Factore

British Speed Skier Jan Farrell came to Chill Factore on 12th May to practice for his indoor speed skiing Guinness World Record attempt. Jan donned his bright red latex suit and aerodynamic helmet and hit our 180m slope with an incredible amount of speed.

Fresh from competing in the Speed Skiing World Cup Circuit, the Lancastrian has made use of the 180 metre slope ahead of his attempt to break the ‘Seven Deadly Skis’ – a set of seven skiing world records – over the next three years.

The speed demon is currently the third fastest skier in British history, a feat he achieved in after just one year of competing, and regularly exceeds speeds of 130mph.

Jan’s visit to Chill Factore was part of an intense training schedule, which comprises of 250 days in the gym, 80 days training on snow, and a strict 4,000 calorie-a-day diet.

He burnt 1250 calories on our slope in just 1 hours training!

Jan has been the fastest skier on our slope to date, and we wish him good luck in his record attempts!
