Clothing & equipment

It’s called Chill Factore for a reason, so expect it to be cold – although it soon warms up when you’re active!

You’ll need to wear:

  • Warm & waterproof clothing
  • Thick socks
  • A helmet (compulsory for select activities and for all children aged 17 and under)
  • Gloves (compulsory)
  • Snow appropriate shoes (e.g clean wellies, walking boots)

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we're not currently offering clothing or snow play boot hire - please come dressed ready for your activity on the snow. If you do not have a hat or gloves, you can purchase these from Chill Factore. Footwear for Snow Park must be clean, robust, above the ankle and have a good treatment suitable for snowy conditions. Trainers are not suitable.

Lift pass and lesson prices include boots, skis, poles, snowboard and helmets but you are more than welcome to bring your own.

Skis and Snowboards are included in the price of all lessons and lift passes. All Snow Park equipment, for example, rings and sledges, are included in the price of your Snow Park pass.

Helmet Policy (head protection)

It is compulsory for all children under 17yrs to wear a helmet for all activities.

It is compulsory for all adults aged 17 and over to wear a helmet for the following activities:

  • All ski and snowboard lessons and coaching sessions.
  • Snow Park
  • Freestyle, Race and Moguls
  • Competition
  • Airboarding and Snowscoot
  • Climbing

For all other activities, helmets are available for guests to wear at their discretion.

Guests are welcome to bring their own helmet or can use a Chill Factore helmet at no extra charge. These are available in various sizes in the Changing Village, located on the wall just before you go out onto the snow.

Please note that all of our head protection is to CE standard and is regularly disinfected.

Before you can hit the slopes, you need to get kitted out with the right equipment.

Whether you’re learning to ski or snowboard or just practicing your skills, you’ll be pleased to know that the price of your booking includes boots, skis and poles, or a snowboard, and a helmet.

If you’re set to experience some serious snow fun with our Luge, Downhill Donuts, Sledging or Snowplay, then your booking includes a helmet and the appropriate equipment for your chosen activity.

A wealth of ski and snowboard wear and equipment can be found in the array of leading outdoor equipment shops on our Alpine Street. At Chill Factore we have everything under one roof to get you looking and playing the part.
