August 2016

August - All About The Technique

I competed in the Welsh and English championships last weekend with the able-bodied.  I came 9th out of 16 in the Under 16's category and 21st out of 43 overall.

I also went to the ambition race camp at Chill Factore, captaining the winning team in a small pro slalom tournament. As well as training twice a week and attending para performance training sessions, with Terry Large, which really helped me improve my technique.

Skating Monkey Fish

I went to a water sports camp and then a hockey camp for a week, I have been to the skate-park with my scooter and my skateboard for a few days. To top it off, I have also been climbing and done a go-ape climbing course.

A Bit Of Inspiration Goes A Long Way!

During the Olympics, I have watched the women’s hockey, which we won. The goalie inspired me because she was miles better than most keepers in the tournament and it shows that you can be much better than anyone else if you work hard. The midfielders also inspired me with their dribbling and their control over the ball in the air.

I've Got A Lot To Look Forward To...

Training with Terry Large, Paralympic Snowsports coach, and cross snowsports every Thursday. I also am starting the new hockey season with my school and my club.

I Have to Train Hard To Stay In Form

I train every Tuesday night and Sunday morning. I do race training with Carl Ryding on these days. As well as that, I take part in para-performance sessions every Thursday with Terry Large.
