Ski Exercises For Beginners

Skiing is a pastime that can be enjoyed by everybody, and can really have a positive effect on health, fitness and general wellbeing.

Those looking to implement snowboarding and skiing exercises as part of their fitness regime will be pleased to hear that either one will slip in effortlessly. In fact, there are specific skiing exercises that can be used to aid your time on a ski slope, including:


It’s important that you don’t tire yourself out too quickly while skiing. Improve your stamina and lower your heart rate by going for walks or even jogs.

Core Training

Your 'core' is your abdominals, obliques, lower back and hips – all fundamental areas when manoeuvring down a ski slope. Balance training, such as Pilates, or balance ball exercises, can subsequently prove very effective ski fitness exercises.


During skiing, your body is constantly twisting and turning, which makes flexibility a key area. As such, yoga is one of a number of ski exercises that can really improve how well you move as you make your way down our dry ski slope.
