BASI - Alpine Level 1 2018 1

Full week course (25th to 29th June)

 

Ever wanted to become an instructor and teach people the art of skiing or snowboarding? With BASI you can, become a qualified BASI instructor and make other people’s dreams come true.

 This is a 5 day course conducted on artificial slopes or in a mountain environment.

The Alpine Level 1 Instructor is the entry level course for students who wish to join the BASI Education System. This qualification is for those wishing to find employment in a controlled environment i.e. dry slopes and indoor snow centres.

Successful students will be issued a certification to work only on indoor snow slopes and dry slopes or in a mountain environment for a BASI Approved Ski School, if working under the direct supervision of a Level 2 or above qualified member (direct supervision means within sight and hearing distance). Students will be able to work with novice and early intermediate skiers. Individuals who do not reach the required level may be required to resit the whole course.

Terrain Challenge

From Thursday to most Saturdays on most weeks, the Terrain Challenges will give everyone the opportunity to take on a brilliant selection of features, including moguls, table tops and rails. The features will be developed and built-on over the course of the two or three days, so if you visit regularly, you can put your skills to the test with new challenges every day!

Theme of this week: Will be held on Thursday and Friday.

North West Telemark Festival

Manchester Cross Country Ski Club present the 8th UK Telemark ski festival at the Manchester Chill Factore

Whether you are an experienced Telemarker, or would like an introduction, then this is an opportunity not to be missed.

Please note that the slope will be at half capacity for the duration of the event. Full slope will be available after the event has been completed at 9pm.
