Chill Factore shows their support for British Parasnowsport Athlete

On Thursday 9th November, to show our support, we will be hosting a one-of-a-kind event, "James Jam" Fundraiser to raise funds for GB Paralympic hopeful James Barnes-Miller, all profits made from ticket sales on the Freestyle night will be donated to James to put towards replacing some of his valuable custom made kit.

This year, on 28th October, James unfortunately was the victim of a robbery where he had £10,000 worth of equipment stolen from his van after returning late from a competition. The sentimental equipment included his custom-made boards, team kit, timing equipment and snowboard bags that were also full of specialist equipment.

With the Next World Cup race in the Netherlands on the horizon this terrible incident could not have come at a worse time. This event acts as a qualifying event for the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

If James cannot replace his stolen kit over the next 2 weeks, he will be unable to attend the Netherlands World Cup event in November and his 2018 Olympic dream will be over.

James Barnes-Miller, British Parasnowsport Snowboard Team Athlete says, "In a Winter Paralympic season, I couldn't have imagined the impact that the theft of my equipment could have on my journey. But I've been completely humbled by the public response. Now thanks to the support of Chill Factore, with their freestyle fundraiser next week, I hope to edge a little closer to raising enough funds to salvage my winter season and make it to the Games."

Si Hunter Nicholson, British Parasnowsport Snowboard Team Lead Coach says, "an absolutely crushing experience for anyone who has been a victim of theft. James's season had been completely de-railed by this incident. But thanks to the generosity of the public and companies such as Chill Factore, there is now hope that we can get his Winter Paralympic preparations back on track."

To show our support to this amazing athlete, we will be hosting our unique “James Jam” Fundraiser starting from 6pm until 10pm. This event will include a full freestyle course, demo tents, a DJ on the snow and a few fun competitions and jams. It is not to be missed so come along and support James to turn this unfortunate turn of events around! Every lift pass will help this fantastic athlete reach his potential and compete to qualify for the 2018 Olympics.

If you are unable to attend, but would like to donate towards this cause, James’ brother Ben has set up a page and would welcome your donations. To donate click here.

We hope to see you there!
