U20's Rugby World Championships hosted in Manchester

It's an exciting time for Manchester! The U20's Rugby World Championships are under-way and being shared by our neighbour, the AJ Bell stadium, and Manchester City’s Academy Stadium. The tournament will see 12 international teams compete against each other with the fixtures to start on the 7th of June and conclude on the 25th

Manchester boasts world class sporting faculties and will make an excellent host for this year’s championship. Offering the younger players of this generation to show their class and make their way into the full national squad. Players like Jack Nowell, Owen Farrell, Jack Clifford, Maro Itoje and local boys George Nott and James Mitchell where all established from participating in the under 20 World championship. Who will be the next big Manchester proven star?

To kick off the 2016 world under 20’s championship, the trophy travelled 11,000 miles from New Zealand, last year’s defending champion, on a month long trophy tour of the Manchester’s iconic sights, school and various clubs across Lancashire.

Welcoming the spirit of competition, Chill Factore was more than excited to have the trophy "chill out" in the snow. We are the first and only indoor snow centre to have been visited across the entire tour. Not to mention the UK's largest! The tour concluded on the 4th of June, when the trophy arrived in Albert Square for the media launch event. This officially started the tournament and leads onto the opening game – France vs. Argentina at 15:15 on the 7th of June.

Be sure to tune in and cheer on the lads as England take on Italy in their first game on the 7th of June at 19:45. To book tickets to see the game and any of the upcoming fixtures, be sure to visit http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/ to find out more.
