Science and Industry Museum

Manchester’s Science and Industry Museum is one of the most popular museums in the city and attracts many families over the summer holidays. The museum traces the development of technology, science, and industry over the years and looks specifically at the achievements of Manchester in this space.

There are a range of different exhibitions throughout the year, all of which focus on a certain aspect of Manchester’s 250 years of innovations that have gone on to change the world. The latest special exhibition running until June 2024 is ‘Operation Ouch! Food, Poo and You which offers an interactive exploration into the digestive system. This is a great way for your kids to have fun and learn this summer.

Palace Theatre

The summer holidays are the perfect opportunity for a family trip to the theatre. So, of course, when in Manchester where else would you head to see a breathtaking show than the Palace Theatre? The theatre’s doors have been open since 1891 and has been home to some of the most popular shows from around the country.

If you’re keen to take your kids to see a show this summer, then you’ll be glad to know that Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is showing at the Palace Theatre and offers a sweet treat for kids and adults!
