How long does it take to learn to snowboard?

How long does it take to learn to snowboard?

Interested in taking up a new hobby or learning a new skill? If you fancy trying something exhilarating and fun, then you have to try snowboarding! Learning to snowboard will energise and invigorate you as well as get your blood pumping. How long does it take to snowboard? Not long at all with Chill Factore’s range of snowboarding lessons.

What is snowboarding?

Developed in the United States during the 1960s, snowboarding is a thrilling winter sport where you descend a slope whilst standing on a board that’s strapped to your feet.

Despite being hugely popular during the 70s and 80s, snowboarding didn’t become a Winter Olympic sport until 1998 when Canadian Ross Rebagliati won the first-ever Olympic gold medal for snowboarding.

Learning to snowboard

Learning to snowboard won’t just reward you with a new skill, it’s also a fantastic way to stay fit and healthy as it will get your blood pumping and build muscle.

Here at Chill Factore, we have a range of snowboarding lessons available, so you can learn this new skill at your own pace with people at the same level as you.

Learning to snowboard in one day

Our one-day snowboarding lessons at Chill Factore are perfect for those who want to learn fast! Our intense one-day snowboard lessons lasts for eight hours and will give you all the skills you need to become a whizz — ideal if you need to hone your skills ASAP.

Learning to snowboard over a few days or weeks

Dedicating a full day to learning to snowboard isn’t for everyone, which is why you can spread it across many days or weeks. These sessions are great for people who like to digest what they’ve learnt before returning to the slopes to put their new skills into practice.

What equipment will you need?

Don’t worry about having to spend loads of money on purchasing new equipment. The price of your snowboarding lesson includes boots, snowboard and a helmet. We advise you to wear a waterproof jacket and trousers because those slopes can get pretty damp, but both can be hired if required.

How long does it take to learn to snowboard?

The answer to that depends on many factors, including:

  • Attitude – the more willing you are to learn, the quicker it will happen!
  • Natural skill – some people are more naturally skilled than others and will therefore learn quicker.
  • Previous experience on the slopes – if you have previous experience of skiing, you may pick up snowboarding quicker than someone who has never been on the slopes before.
  • Current fitness level – snowboarding does require quite a lot of muscle strength, so those who have a good fitness level may find it easier than those who do not.

Snowboarding is a skill that does require muscle strength, a strong core and a willingness to listen and learn. Some people will pick up this new skill in a matter of hours, for others, it may take a few weeks.

Luckily, Chill Factore has incredible instructors who are masters at helping all levels of riders to snowboard. Our expert snowboarding instructors are there every step of the way to help you reach your goals, whether you want to progress to snowboard instructor level or are happy simply getting to grips with the slopes.
